5 Fun Facts About the Pumpkin Spice Latte

It’s the first day of Fall, so you know what that means: everyone’s favorite drink, the Pumpkin Spice Latte, is back at your local Starbucks. Being a big fan of this seasonal favorite I did a little research about it to come up with some fun facts we’ll all enjoy. Did you know….

The inventor of the Pumpkin Spice Latte was a scientist with a Jack O’Lantern for a head
He created the drink by pulling his brains out, throwing them in a cup of coffee, and asking the other researchers at the Starbucks Drink Laboratory, “Will this be popular?” No one had the guts to tell him no.

Drinking more than 5 in a day will give you unlimited power
Within minutes, you’ll be able to feel the strength of all of history’s pumpkins coursing through your veins.

“Pumpkin Spice” was not the original name or flavor
Before settling on the beloved current version, Pumpkin Spice, the drink’s creators experimented with several drafts including Pumpkin Seed, Pumpkin Salt, Pumpkin Salad, Punkin (spelled incorrectly) Spice, Spice (with no pumpkin), Spunk and Ice, Pork and Rice, Tyler Perry Presents PURRRRNKIN SPURCE, and the least popular iteration, Squash Oregano.

If you wink at a Starbucks employee while ordering one, you will be named King (or Queen) of Fall.
You are then presented with a crown made of leaves and a sceptre fashioned out of gourd.

Drinking one at a pumpkin patch will make your head explode
Though costly, no other act can better show your commitment to a pumpkin lifestyle.

Don’t forget to take a second from drinking your Pumpkin Spice Lattes to subscribe to my mailing list. Not one will ever mention any drinks from Starbucks.
